Snacking made healthy!

I’m so happy that now those two words (“snacking” and “healthy”) are often used in the same sentence.

For someone like myself that really enjoys devouring an entire bag of salty chips, I found the perfect alternative. (I don’t think I’ll be giving up my Kettle New York Cheddar chips… but these will do as a good replacement so I can keep my salty tooth at bay.)

Kale Chips!

  • 1 bunch of raw kale
  • olive oil
  • salt

simple, right?


Set the oven to 350 degrees. Line the pan with parchment paper. Rip the kale leaves away from the stems and break into bite sized pieces. Feed the stems to your rabbits.


Place all pieces of kale on the parchment paper and by using whatever technique you prefer, cover the pieces with olive oil. I use a little rubber brush to do this. After they are covered, sprinkle with salt. (You can salt the kale before OR after it has been baked.)


Place in the oven for about 10 minutes, 15 max. depending on your oven. You want the kale to be crispy not chewy, but not burned. The ends of the kale should be brown.
