Post Father’s Day Guilt Recovery Shake

Hopefully none of you are as awful as I am and forgot to call your Papa on Father’s day (busy scurrying around the man of OUR house and hoping he has a decent day). But if you did, this shake will make you love yourself again and be able to face your dogs when they finally ask about their real dad. Drinking it for breakfast really starts you off feeling “green” and healthy and I’ve aptly titled it:

GUILT-FREE BREAKFAST SHAKE (Repent of sins whilst drinking)

1 c. coconut water (or regular water)

1 ice cube

1 handful spinach

1 handful frozen mixed berries

1/2 banana

1 tbsp chia seeds

This shake actually tastes GREEN. There is no other way to describe it. It truly feels like you’re doing something right for your body. The recipe is a variation of one my sister in-law told me about which adds kale and replaces mixed berries with blueberries (somehow that shake manages to taste like bananas). She swears by this shake and said it only takes 1 week to start noticing the benefits in your skin, hair and nails. I personally can attest to it; it’s been one week now for me and I feel less tired, less sluggish on the inside and positive about making a healthy change in my daily routine.

Just because we only get one designated day every year where we are “appreciated” doesn’t mean the other 364 days we need to suffer.

We can only help others when we are our best selves and only we are in control of that. Make sure you take the time every day to take care of yourself so you can do your best at everything you attempt! (too much Jillian Michaels but f it, I love her! I just started week 4 of ripped in 30 and it keeps getting better, we can achieve such amazing things when we push and challenge ourselves.)
